Apocalyptica Shadowmaker Tour Rides The Gas Monkey

Apocalyptica Shadowmaker Tour Rides The Gas MonkeyApocalyptica rolled into town bringing their Shadowmaker Tour to perform at the Gas Monkey Live in Dallas, Texas and even with severe weather delayed, they still managed to get the show off on time!

Apocalyptica are a classically trained musicians who can eviscerate the best guitarists in the world, note by note... with a cello. They are a heavy metal band. By invitation only singers such as Corey Taylor, Adam Gontier, Ville Valo, Brent Smith, Gavin Rossdale and Lacey Sturm are asked to collaborate and they never get turned down. They started 20 years ago with the album Plays Metallica by Four Cellos. They will pay homage to their roots and former member Antero picks up his cello again for Apocalyptica - Battery (Plays Metallica by Four Cellos [Remastered]) - out 22nd July 2016! You can download 'Battery' instantly with digital pre-orders on itunes. This is exciting for fans and I am a huge fan of the band and the guys themselves who are always warm and inviting if you are lucky enough to meet them.

The show was an aural fuck and a damn good one. They began somber and went supersonic quickly. Good set list showcasing their undeniable talent as songwriters and musicians. Favorites from the new album, ‘Shadowmaker' were title track, "House of Chains," "Cold Blood" and "Dead Man's Eyes" which really pulled me in to Franky Perez' amazing voice. Is he staying? I don't know. I can't find anything in the rumor mill yet. Of course Metallica tracks are always crowd favorites. I could never play Metallica with my teeth on a cello nor hold a cello over my head while playing. Damn. Songs from the '7th Symphony' album were played and again crowd pleasers- "I Don't Care' and "Not Strong Enough."

Excellent show at the Gas Monkey Live, they had very good turnout despite the inclement weather. It was my first time at this venue and it won't be my last. Catch Apocalyptica Shadowmaker Tour now in the USA before poof-they're gone! See them! Worth every penny on a General Admission ticket. VIP? Don't get me started.
