Legendary Rock Vocals Returns To Texas

Legendary Rock Vocals Returns To Texas Graham Bonnet BandTrees in Dallas, Texas was one of only five cities in the U.S. to witness the greatness of legendary rock vocalist Graham Bonnet as he warmed up for his upcoming European tour. During his lengthy career, Bonnet has sang for such legendary acts as Rainbow, Michael Schenker Group (MSG), Alcatrazz, Impellitteri, and his own solo band. He has worked with some of the greatest guitarists in rock history including Ritchie Blackmore, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Michael Schenker, Chris Impellitteri, Slash, Vivian Campbell and Bruce Kulick.

The show opened with Rainbow's "Eyes of the World" and "All Night Long" as Bonnet took you on a journey through his career. Even at 69 years old and fighting off the flu, Bonnet still sounded amazing as he belted out each song with his powerful voice. Other highlights included MSG's "Desert Song," "Dancer" and "Assault Attack," solo hits "Night Games" and "S.O.S." and his biggest hit with Rainbow, "Since You Been Gone."

Next it was time for something truly special, a mini Alcatrazz reunion. Keyboardist Jimmy Waldo had already been playing with the band all night, but now he and Bonnet would also be joined onstage by fellow Alcatrazz member, bassist Gary Shae, who would be temporarily replacing the beautiful and talented Beth-Ami Heavenstone. The Alcatrazz mini set included favorites "Jet to Jet," "Will You Be Home Tonight," "God Blessed Video" and "Island In the Sun." The MVP of the night was brilliant guitarist Conrado Pesinato, who had the difficult task of playing all those Blackmore, Schenker, Malmsteen and Vai songs. He did a fantastic job.

This once in a lifetime performance came to an end with another Rainbow favorite, "Lost in Hollywood." Following the show the whole band came out to the merchandise tables and signed autographs and took photos with fans. 2017 may be just getting started, but when the year comes to an end this will still go down as one of the year's best.
