"As Hope Expires"
Since forming in 2010 in Gulfport Mississippi, Cathercist have been hitting the south to promote their brand of hard rock across the Gulf Coast with hopes of spreading their hard rock sound to the masses.
Cathercist has taken cues from the last three decades of metal and alternative rock, and added their own touch to gain a loyal following through hard work and hard rock!
With their first album 2011's The Untimely Death of Zack Sawyer the band was invited to play festivals such as the 2011 Rockstar Uproar Tour and 2012 Carnival of Madness Tour. More recently the band has taken to the road to promote their latest album "As Hope Expires" most recently appearing at the 2013 Mullet Festival with Sevendust and Hell Yeah.
"As Hope Expires" which was released on May 24th continues the bands evolution into one of the better hard rock bands out on the road today Fans of the aforementioned "Sevendust sound", will find As Hope Expires much to their liking. The fact that Sevendust have enlisted Cathercist as support on more than one occasion comes as no surprise.
Standout and opening track, the pummeling Everything Has Changed should prove to be a great introduction to the band's sound and a good primer for listening rest of the album. The remaining eight tracks follow on with a similar melodic metal sound, all solid tracks, and no throw away songs on this release. In particular the tracks Nightmare and Poison which close out the album leave you ready for what this band has coming next. A concise album of well crafted music is rare these days, in this case maybe eight tracks isn't enough, but the boys in Cathercist have certainly delivered and show that their future is certainly bright.
Check this band out as I'm sure you will be seeing more and more of them in the near future!
