Wiz Khalifa, Riding High and Under The Influence of His Music Summer Tour

Wiz Khalifa is at it again, with round two of his Under the Influence of Music Summer Tour which made a stop at the Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas, Texas. Khalifa touring with fellow rappers; A$AP Rocky, B.o.B., Trinidad James, Joey Bada$$, Pro Era, Smoke DZA and Taylor Gang's Berner and the return of Chevy Woods were all part of this years carnival of rap and hip hop that made the line-up just as promising as the 2012 event!

The collaboration of musicians who performed were genuine crowd pleaser's as the packed house showed their enthusiasm from one act to another. There was a sense of unity between the performers and the fans through the use of cannabis which is quite typical at most if not all Khalifa concerts. The No Smoking Signs were nowhere to be found!

I have been a fan of Wiz Khalifa and A$AP for some time now, but have never heard them perform live until tonight. There is always curiosity in regards to how a musician will sound live as opposed to a studio creation. I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome of the show. Both Khalifa and A$AP proved to me that they are not only talented rappers, but they know how to keep energy alive throughout the audience as well as actually having the strong vocal stamina that meets the quality of their studio recordings. I also enjoyed the love for their brother-rappers that were on the bill, up and coming musicians that were performing on this years summer tour. Multi artist festival's or tours such as this are what get new musicians out in the public eye, and I respect Khalifa for his joyful willingness to promote his lesser-known friends.

An unexpected surprise for me and others in the crowd was the appearance of Courtney Noelle. Courtney joined Khalifa on stage for the performance of their song "Got Everything" from Khalifa's last album O.N.I.F.C.. Her soulful voice was a nice change of pace. I would have liked to have heard more of Courtney, but was very satisfied with her informal performance. With the success of his second summer tour in full swing, Wiz Khalifa and company is riding high, and so were many of the fans at hand.
