Mexican Rock Band Café Tacvba Bring Their Game To The Side South Ballroom
Café Tacvba, a rock band from the north of Mexico City whose unique style incorporates elements of everything from rock n' roll, punk, industrial, "banda," "danzón" and many other Latin rhythms, presented their awesome 25th anniversary concert at the South Side Ballroom in Dallas, TX last October 25th.
Old-school Café Tacvba fans especially enjoyed this show because the band played their second album, RE, in its entirety. RE is excellent, managing to be really creative and interesting all at once. 19 tracks, 19 jewels. With songs like "La Ingrata," "Las flores, El fin de la infancia and la Pinta," you could tell how this project hasn't aged at all; the band and their music is still as powerful now as it was 25 years ago. It's no wonder they are one of the most important, fun and successful Latin American bands in the world.
Café Tacvba is one of the best ways to acquaint yourself with some of the best music produced in Mexico instead of the B.S. you can hear in most of the Latin clubs, radio and TV stations. Don't miss this excellent band next time they are in your city. You won't regret it at all.
