Buckcherry Packs Em' Deep At Fat Daddy's
LA Rockers Buckcherry have been on the road supporting their latest CD release Rock And Roll and are currently hitting 'B' markets across the country. Their appearance at Fat Daddy's in Mansfield, Texas was one of those 'B' market stops, but if you ask me, they could have found a better venue to perform.
I really hate to dis a venue but Fat Daddy's was designed as a Sports Bar, not a concert hall and even though they have tried several arrangements, from what I heard, the set up is poor at best!
The place is quite big. From the outside it looks large with a huge patio and tall ceilings, but when you step inside... you will find the stage in the front left corner, probably the smallest section of the room. WTF!
Okay, enough spanking the club for its poor interior design, lets get to the show, the music!
Kickin' off with their first commercial success, "Lit Up," Buckcherry started off strong, energized and ready to rock! Lead vocalist Josh Todd knows how to kick it in gear from the get go and gets the crowd pump'd up in a pure rock frenzy!
The one thing I really like about this band is their balls out, no non-sense straight-up rock and roll attitude. Probably a good reason they titled their latest LP Rock And Roll and performing 5+ tracks from that project on this tour is a good thing!
"Bring It On Back," "The Madness" and "Tight Pants" are a few new tunes that not only give their set some fresh material but also seemed to be fan favorites as well. "Rain's Falling" was another from the R&R CD that was well received by the sing along participation given back by the crowd. I would say true Buckcherry fans were in the house, at least up front!
As expected the bands biggest hit to date was held for last... "Crazy Bitch." As soon as the tune kick'd in from the opening scream, the place was going completely nuts, even the waitresses were enjoying themselves during this number. Closing their show with "Sex Appeal" it was quite clear Buckcherry gave another great performance by the audience reaction. One of the most underrated rock band on the road today.
