Heart Of Gold With A Fist Full Of Hits
Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, siblings Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart rock and rolled over the stage at the Choctaw Casino's Grand Theater, rocketing an hour and a half set of some of the biggest hits from the 70s and 80s. With its unique blend of folk infused rock, Heart flexed its muscle and musical prowess with songs from Fanatic, the band's fifteenth studio album. Entertained with Ann bombastic vocals on iconic hits like "Barracuda" and "Crazy On You," Nancy plied her craft with acoustic and electric guitars mixed with mandolin, lead and backing vocals.
The stage drenched in blue spotlight and a giant skull image on the drums, Heart commanded the stage with full force launching songs such as "Magic Man," "Heartless," "What About Love" and "Kick It Out." Hits continued throughout the night and established the band's solid performance with the generationally mixed audience that so few of the resurging big hair bands of the 70s and 80s can pull off these days.
For over forty years, the American rock band that first found its success in Canada, Heart is now enjoying a comeback experienced with even greater success the hard rock ballads brought in the 80s and 90s. Heart has returned to its acoustic folk roots with the release of Velvet Car (2010), and Fanatic (2012). If you get the chance, set your expectations high, take in the experience and join the rabid fans at a show coming near you.
