The Best Rock Show Of 2016... ACDC!
How does a true rock and roll fan describe a hard rock band... easy, in four letters... ACDC! Last night at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas the worlds ballsiest rock and roll band rolled through on their Rock Or Bust Tour and delivered, what I considered to be, The Best Rock Show Of 2016!
For those who know ACDC, there is nothing new I can say to explain what a powerhouse performance this band brings on tour after tour! And from what I heard last night, backstage among the road crew, this will be their last go around!
Kicking off with the title track from their latest LP, Rock Or Bust, got the show off to a nice start that followed up with mega hits such as; "Shoot The Thrill," "Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be" and straight into "Back In Black" from the bands most popular LP to date and best selling rock album EVER!
The stage was enormous as expected, with three massive video screens to present imagery of the band up close as well as visuals that would impress even the ultimate concert goer. Truly a spectacular display of power!
The dynamics of Brian Johnson on vocals and the magical fingers of Angus Young on guitar is something most rock fans will agree is incomparable to any other duo that the rock world has known. Loved by fans and musicians alike, ACDC hands down has escalated the rock show status that leaves most bands wishing they could emulate what ACDC has managed to accomplish.
On Drums is Chris Slade, veteran musician who has tour on and off with the band since 1996. On Bass, Mr. Smooth, Cliff Williams who goes way back to the earliest beginnings with the band, almost from the start of the mid 70s. And the newest added member, Steve Young who has replaced Malcolm Young due to illness. Steve is also a nephew to both Angus and Malcolm. Nice gig for him!
The show was simply terrific! With hit song after hit song, ACDC didn't disappoint playing classic tunes like; "Dirty Deeds," "Thunderstruck," "Hells Bells" and one of my favorites "Sin City." The highlight of the show by far was "Whole Lotta Rosie" as the huge inflatable voluptuous vixen appeared behind the band with all her glory and what appeared to be rubbing herself sexually with a sexy devilsh smile. Nice touch!
