The first time you ever see a band, you never know what to expect. So, on a brisk Sunday night at Chicago's infamous Double Door, I found myself being introduced to Taddy Porter. I was pleasantly surprised. These four rocking musicians all hail from Stillwater, Oklahoma. They are Andy Brewer, lead vocals / guitar; Joe Selby, lead guitar / vocals; and brothers Doug (drums) and Kevin Jones (bass) handling the rhythm section. Their sound is a great mix of classic Southern rock updated to incorporate a more modern twist on the genre.
On stage these guys are tight and play with heart and soul. Taddy Porter's set featured material that will appear on their upcoming album due out this summer. The music definitely left you wanting more. Talking to the band after the show, you walked away impressed as to how humble and down to earth all of them actually are. It was quite refreshing, to say the least. Taddy Porter hit a Grand Slam!
