Boston Bad Boys Begin Their Vegas Residency
Aerosmitht Park MGM Las Vegas, NV October 5, 2022 Photo by Michael Beers

Aerosmith concluded the first leg of their Deuces Are Wild Residency Tour at the Park MGM on October 5, 2022; this residency tour was supposed to end in 2020, but due to COVID was rescheduled for late 2022. However, the layoff didn't seem to affect Aerosmith; like a bottle of good wine they have gotten better with age. If anything they were much more vibrant and polished compared to their 2020 tour.

They opened their set with "Back In The Saddle", which set the tone for the rest of the evening. Hired hand, John Douglas was sitting in for Joey Kramer and did a fantastic job. Also back on this tour with Aerosmith was Buck Johnson on keyboards, a sax player and female backing vocals and to add to their sound production, a mini string section. Very nice!

One of the highlights of the night when Aerosmith performed "Toys In The Attic", with large inflated toy balloons were lowered from the ceiling and were hanging 20 feet over the audience. Steven Tyler's vocals sounded as good during "Toys" as it did over 45 years ago. They also performed classics like "Love Iin Elevator", "Livin' On The Edge", "Hangman", "Rag Doll" and "Dude Looks Like A Lady"which are now standards of the Aerosmith set list..

For their encore they performed the song that made it all come true, "Dream On" and their biggest hit to date, "Walk This Way" which had the entire audience standing on their feet, dancing and clapping for more. Aerosmith will return to complete their residency at the Park MGM on November 19-December 11 and after that there are no scheduled shows for them. So, if you're a Aerosmith fan the trip to Las Vegas is definitely worth to see this well oiled machine revving at high level!
