Hot, steamy, heavy metal rocked The Rail Club Live! in Forth Worth, Tezas on a very special night! Leap year babies were everywhere celebrating a Birthday Bash with Texas favorite sons, Drowning Pool. These Texas bad asses played a hell of a show for a sold out crowd in what was an unforgettable gathering evening of Metal, Fun and Family!
Voices filled the air with chants for Drowning Pool as the anticipation build throughtout the night with a room full of the local metal community. Bodies packed the floor on an epic evening of head banging, hair slinging, crowd surfing fun! Kids were sitting on their fathers shoulders as the music and the live concert experience passed on to the next generation of metal heads.
Drowning Pool was formed in Dallas Texas 1996 with founding members that consisted of guitarist C.J. Pierce, bassist Stevie Benton, drummer Mike Luce and the late great Dave Williams who died on August 14, 2002 from heart disease. Their sound was captured in a time capsule movement called the "New Wave of American Heavy Metal" and from the start. became hometown heroes. The music is also compared with Black and Death Metal, laced with a soulful vocalist who releases a powerful resinating growl. Tonight the band was on fire as they played hit after hit and even shared a few new tunes with their DFW brothers and sisters.
Attentive to their fans, the band stayed connected to the crowd and reached out to shake hands and pose for the camera during their set. Friends, family, supporting acts, and local celebrities gathered backstage to partake in good fellowship in a tight metal community of DFW. Getting the party started were local support metal bands 100 Proof Hatred lead by frontman Derek "D-Rock" Walker, new comers on the scene, White House, and Creeper featuring guitar monster, Jimi Fritz. A handful of stellar bands that rocked the house and as always the rockstar bar staff at The Rail Club Live! made history with the largest crowd to date!
