Whitesnake Slides It In at The Factory

Coverdale sounded great and had more energy onstage than others half his age. The man is as timeless as his music. The rest of the band included guitarists Reb Beach (Winger) and Joel Hoekstra (Night Ranger/Trans Siberian Orchestra), keyboardist Michele Luppi (Vision Divine/Secret Sphere), bassist Michael Devin and the drum God, Tommy Aldridge (Ozzy Osbourne).

Coverdale and company were out in support of their forthcoming album, Flesh & Blood and the setlist was a nice mix of brand new songs and their greatest hits. The new material fit in nicely with the classics and was immediately accessible as fans hearing some of those songs for the first time found themselves singing along.

If the crowd's reactions to "Hey You (Make Me Rock)," "Trouble Is Your Middle Name" and "Shut Up And Kiss Me" is any indication, Flesh & Blood will be yet another great album in a very deep catalog. It was a bit weird though to see Tommy Aldridge's amazing drum solo during a new song "Get Up," instead of it's traditional spot during "Crying In The Rain."

The rest of the set gave the people just what they wanted, including "Slide It In," "Slow And Easy," "Love Aint No Stranger" and "Here I Go Again." They'd send everyone home happy with the encore, "Still Of The Night." Hopefully they'll swing back through again later in the tour after the new album is out. Don't miss them when they come through your town.
